Author Daniel Harry’s religious fiction book, *The Jesus Ring*, follows a former soldier as he seeks to carry out God’s will, which involves saving humanity from the worst devastation ever unleashed by Satan.

Peter Christian, a war veteran battling post-traumatic stress disorder, is enthralled with the gold band on his middle finger, which he found near the waterfront at Ormond Beach, Florida. Discovering the ring—which oddly shrank and changed color to fit his finger—was followed by the sound of trumpets blasting in the sky and the realization that he had been chosen. Because of this newly discovered treasure, he experiences a dramatic physical change, a rapid growth in his understanding of electronics and computer components, the ability to smell chemical odors in foods around him, an abrupt disappearance of his antidepressant withdrawal symptoms, and the ability to talk and hear God’s voice in his mind.

He also acquires special knowledge and abilities that enable him to create food replicators that can instantly feed people. Additionally, he develops medical devices that, among other groundbreaking achievements, can cure chronic diseases, replace amputated limbs, and assist with weight reduction. The creator of the ring, God, allows him to have disciples who support him in his quest during a period of turmoil, war, greed, and hunger that threatens to tear the world apart. However, Peter has no idea how resilient the force responsible for ploys, oppressive leadership, and other forms of dishonesty will be against his efforts in fulfilling God’s plan.

A significant feature in this compelling novel, which builds tension from the outset, is a survival and safety plan that many people, as stated in the story, were simply too blind to notice. The remarkable dreams and unwavering commitment to following God’s plan despite any risks they faced made a group of characters known as the Golden Twelve very impressive and likable. The main character effectively and impressively guides them to accomplish the seemingly impossible. Even while the climax is thrilling, it also presents a revolutionary idea that gives the story a distinctive edge.

*The Jesus Ring*, a heartfelt, dramatic, and thought-provoking narrative, will quickly tug on readers’ heartstrings as stakes rise with every new chapter. Its well-developed characters propel its narrative ahead, making its three-hundred-page length insignificant as the plot thickens. It is a thrilling work of religious fiction that integrates ideas from a Biblical book that has been widely misinterpreted.

Faith is trust, trust in a God that can’t be seen but, for those who believe, know exists. That type of faith brings understanding, in moments of need, God will be present. Faith, the guiding force in this novel, inspires the protagonists of this novel to answer and adhere to His higher calling because they believe in His presence in their lives.

This novel is a little bit action adventure, a little bit sci-fi thriller, a little bit apocalyptic allegory, but overall, it is predominately an interpretation of the biblical record chronicled in Revelations, the final book of the New Testament. Revelations prophecies the coming of the kingdom of God which is an end to present time and the beginning of a world made new through God’s intervention. It details the struggles between good and evil which become so egregious that God steps in, destroys the forces of evil and establishes a new order for believers. It also chronicles the Messiah’s return.

Against this biblical backdrop, author Daniel Harry weaves a tale which begins when the main character, Peter Christian, finds an ancient ring on a beach in Florida. He slips it on … and his whole world changes. He is transformed from a down-on-his-luck American veteran suffering from PTSD to one of God’s “Golden Wardens,” a true believer who is called to help save humankind from itself.

The ring, worn throughout the ages by many, including Jesus, not only changes Peter physically into a “golden giant,” it also allows him to communicate with God. With God’s guidance, Peter is given the knowledge to build advanced and innovative machinery — energy generators, food processors, medical scanners — that will reshape how humans function in a post-apocalyptic world. He is helped in his task by 11 other men, known as the “Golden Disciples.” The stakes are enormous — to save the world God has created for humans or to fall under the domination of Satan and his followers.

Peter gathers together his faithful deputies at a communal compound that allows them all to work independently on tasks entrusted to them. Each is chosen because they too have been called to participate in the epic fight to repel Satan’s forces. Peter must convince many. He says to the U.S. president: “Mr. President, I’m not asking permission. God has told us it’s a battle to the very end, and I intend to follow God’s instructions to the letter. This is no longer a democratic country. This is a stronghold for God’s favored, and we intend to spread it throughout the globe.” He, and his compatriots, must also fight Satan’s Harvesters, giant human-eating creatures that devour the unfaithful, as well as the army he sends to the conclusive Battle of Armageddon.

On the surface, this is a story about good and evil. But dive in and you’ll be swept away by the author’s commanding writing. Not only is the storyline gripping, the characters are well-developed and believable. The author’s writing is forceful, to the point, and consistent. He creates for the reader a warrior hero who taps into, not just his humanity, but that of others around him to do God’s work. He stays true and focused on the intrinsic message in Revelations. And what is that message? Does good win out over evil?

Have faith. This novel, imbued with the presence of God, has the answer to these questions and more.

When veteran Peter Christian finds a ring on the beach and slips it on his finger, he discovers it was previously worn by Jesus and that God has a new mission for him. The final battle with Satan is at hand, and Christian must lead the charge.

Veteran Peter Christian is suffering from PTSD. As he stands in the surf near his Florida home, he is wondering what to do with his life when he notices that washed up in the sand at his feet is a gold ring. He slips it on his finger and has an epiphany. He realizes that the ring was previously worn by Jesus Christ and that wearing it gives him the means to commune directly with God. And God has a mission for Christian. Satan is massing his minions to wage a final war on the human race, and if mankind is not prepared to stand and fight, then God will abandon the earth once and for all. Peter Christian is a warrior with faith on his side and is just the man to lead the battle against Satan’s apocalyptic hordes and unite his people as the dark shadow of the end-time encroaches. Within hours of wearing the ring, Christian’s entire mind and body are re-energized. He begins to physically change as the power of the ring overtakes him and prepares him for the tasks ahead. Soon Christian has begun to gather his followers, and God has spoken to him revealing the location of precious commodities to fund the holy war and plans for machines that will help humanity win.

Daniel Harry’s THE JESUS RING is a contemporary update of the biblical Book of Revelation which uses the tropes of sci-fi, doomsday thriller, and the horror novel to spin the story into an exciting, page-turner. In contrast to a lot of Christian fiction, Harry plays loose with what some might consider absolute biblical truth, and he is not afraid to deviate from traditional interpretations of scripture. Indeed, the suggested role that the Jesus ring played in the immaculate conception is particularly novel. Aside from the occasional philosophical musings between Christian and God in which moral certitude, faith, and obedience are unpicked, there is little in the way of evangelizing. There is an undercurrent of eco-consciousness whereby Christian and his followers use one of the machines God provides to feed the world with healthy food stripped of harmful chemicals and seek to reverse man’s exploitation of animals. In general though, Harry prefers to show and not tell. The rampaging imps and carnivorous “harvesters” sent by Satan are not metaphorical monsters. The world of THE JESUS RING is a literal one. Black and white. Good versus evil. But for all the horrors seen in the relentless battles that rage on earth for mankind’s soul, the book is a lot of fun. Readers able to put aside their skepticism in the logic of some of the more outlandish plot twists or the practicalities of some of God’s magical machines will enjoy the almost cartoonish action sequences that are reminiscent of the kind of battles seen in contemporary superhero films.

THE JESUS RING is a thoroughly entertaining novel that plays loose with the themes of the Book of Revelation to create a contemporary sci-fi horror thriller.

A man named Peter Christian recovers a ring that belonged to Jesus and which has been lost for nearly two thousand years. The ring blesses him and his family with extraordinary height, golden skin, and advanced scientific knowledge. They use it to build incredible machines that replicate food and give people perfect bodies. These machines are needed, for the long-prophesied end of the world is nearing. At the behest of Satan, huge dinosaur-like monsters emerge from portals, carrying millions of unredeemed souls back to their home planet to be devoured. Peter and his brothers and their wives, the "golden giants," must use the weaponry they've acquired to protect the innocent people of earth and send the devil's minions back to the abyss. But with billions already dead from earthquakes, nuclear war, and erupting volcanoes, the world is uniquely susceptible to the words of a mysterious Middle Eastern man who promises peace and proclaims himself God in the flesh.

Harry's book moves at a rapid clip, interweaving Peter's romantic exploits with a psychedelic vision of the earth's final days. The author manages to cover an incredible amount of material succinctly. For instance, major episodes like an asteroid collision and the emergence of a new world religion are dispensed within a few paragraphs. Although the book is absorbing throughout, the superhuman nature of the heroes, portrayed as unkillable demigods in the Nietzchean mold, drains any tension from the story. The narrative's take on racial issues also comes across clearly. For example, Africa is described as a land of corrupt savages, and God gives an extended monologue in which he reveals himself as opposed to racial integration. The end of the book depicts a newly restored world, free of pollution and bloodshed, in which the races no longer mix.

Stories harbor the potential to stand the test of time, carrying over from generation to generation. In Harry’s work, themes of scripture are transposed onto a fictional canvas that gives audiences a unique vantage point of many biblical elements, with a particular emphasis on the end times. The Lord’s sacrifices for mankind, despite the darkest of sins committed unto him, are brought into the light through this narrative. More importantly, the work is about restoring peace, balance, and love, shattering the subverted agendas of humans who wear the guise of peacekeepers while only looking out for themselves.

The narrative revolves around a golden ring that is deemed to be found by Joseph of Arimathea as the body of Christ is being removed from the cross. It is this ring that finds its way to the principal character, Peter Christian, somehow traversing through the waters from North Africa to where he stood on Osmond Beach, Florida. God’s furor at the perverse renditions of man is palpable and unyielding as he bears witness to a mankind divided by a multitude of religions and beliefs and one that uses faith and belief as a limitless revenue generator.

Peter, emblematic of the Christian faith itself, is working through his own traumas and PTSD from war after seeing his own peers blasted to death in a Humvee ambush. Adopting the characters of apostles, Peter brings on Paul Malloy, a fellow veteran he met in Afghanistan, to go gold hunting in the rivers and mountains of the Carolinas. As the group comes together, Peter brings on Faith Pride, a seemingly ordinary single mom and Walmart employee whose pure heart and love of the Lord shine brightly through her material exterior. Last but not least is Andrew, who is himself searching for the shepherd, God’s messenger, and is instrumental in the prospecting of gold as it falls right on and in the areas around his property.

Through the characters, Harry is able to speak the Lord’s message with force and clarity about healing oneself and then having the power to heal others. The prototypes being invented, such as the food processor and medical scanner, threaten to bring poverty, injury, and illness to its knees, if not eradicate it altogether. Fittingly, in a cinematic scope, a voice in Peter’s head urges him to immediately travel to Nakuru, Kenya, to retrieve a staff and a golden cloak. Overall, the world is on the precipice of greed and treachery, with everyone, even churches that are entrusted to be God’s messengers, leading society astray for their own advantage. Those like Peter, however, have a deeper connection with God, and it is in the moments of conversations with God that readers are privy to a stimulating conversation about lost meaning, manipulation of God’s teachings, evolution, and even the downfall of dinosaurs.

Conversations on the soul, everlasting life, and man squandering his gifts of love and mind abound throughout this segment of the novel and create thought-provoking discourse with other faith-based readers. Chiefly, Armageddon is near, and if a person is to be one of the Golden Wardens, then this book is an intriguing rise to awakening, one that can help audiences see Satan in his many forms, often right in plain sight or in roles of leadership. In essence, Harry’s energetic and action-packed writing style and dynamic character-building, all while adhering to biblical principles, make for an entertaining and educational read.
